When I start a painting I never know what will appear and how it will turn out.  It's a process of discovery where something unknown at the start begins to reveal itself,  sometimes it's a narrative portrait and sometimes an abstract. Often the initial stages of a painting are not recognizable in its finished version... but hints are there through paint layers of exploration and intuitive markings.   Click on the images below to see painting details.
